My current body of work is inspired by the delicate balance between order and chaos in each of our lives. I am interested in the balance between the elements of movement, and light which occurs when working freely with paint and not being wholly limited by a preconceived image. An open plane of broad strokes coexists with precise elements throughout.
The visual and philosophical influence my artwork. The ebb and flow of life and nature guides me as I create each piece. Inspiration comes from what I see, shapes and patterns that surround us. Colors convey mood, thought and meaning.
My current work is process oriented. Balance is achieved through addition and elimination. Using tools such as palette knives, brushes, rags and print blocks, a concept is conceived on canvas using sweeping motion and tightly executed details.
I have studied art throughout my life, beginning in my childhood home and on to Binghamton University and the Syracuse University School of Art. I also studied at The Art Students League in New York City and The Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey.
Currently, I am fully engaged in the creation of Art. I also teach art to Adults with special needs and am a Visiting Artist at Montessori of Greater Hartford.
