Over the past few years my painting has moved from a traditional landscape and representational format to trying to capture the quiet
moments in nature – where a fern “is”, the sun touches a leaf or twilight changes the sky. My images are impressions of a walk in
the woods or along a garden path or the textures of a field or the barrenness of the woods in winter. My paintings are non-objective.
I portray a piece of the landscape – the experience of seeing the “messages “in front of my journey or at my feet. Thus, my images
are meditations, impressions or abstractions of finding the “space” away from the fray… with the simple things that nature has placed
in our way.
I have been a garden coordinator at the 4H Education Center for the last ten years. This has fed my spirit and given me many images
about how the earth and the land changes as the seasons progress. The animals and the gardens tell their stories…
