Style : Tom considers himself an impressionist landscape painter working primarily in watercolors and oils. Heís a minimalist and does not like to overload his paintings with excessive details, but just enough to give the viewer a sense of emotion, mood and an intimate realism. Another characteristic of Tomís diversity is his abstract paintings.

Composition : When he is painting landscapes, his subjects are usually representational or traditional in nature working with a limited color palette. His abstract paintings are geometric design collages using complimentary colors, textures and shapes.

Training : Tom initially started out as a self-taught artist and later earned his Bachelor of Arts degree as a Special Studies Major from Central Connecticut State University. He also attended the University of Connecticut and the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford.

 

He has participated in juried shows throughout the United States and has shown his work
in several galleries. His paintings are in private collections throughout the United States.

His memberships included; The Connecticut Watercolor Society, Canton Artistsí
Guild, West Hartford Art League, Lyme Art Association, American Juried Art Salon,
Art Show.com., Artistsí Guild of Spartanburg, West Main Artists CO-OP, South Carolina
Watermedia Society and Metropolitan Arts Council, Greenville, S.C.
